Should You Support Local Agents?

Television is flooded with advertisements. When you’re watching a new episode of your favorite TV show, the ads seem like an eternity. Time.com released an article about the increase in length of advertisements per television show– in 2013, studies show that advertisements were taking up fourteen minutes and fifteen seconds per hour of television.

We see advertisements every single day for the big-name, chain businesses–whether it’s on television, the radio, or billboards lining the streets we travel on daily. Have you ever thought about what goes into these advertisements?

The answer: Money. Lots and lots of money.

In fact, according to Insurance Business America, Geico spent 1.2 BILLION dollars on ads in 2013.

So what about the businesses that haven’t established a large enough clientele to afford these outrageously-priced ads? What about the local, family-owned businesses that are struggling to make a name for themselves?

You may have never thought about this before: the importance of supporting local businesses.

When it’s time to renew your insurance policy, here are some reasons why you should consider us for your insurance needs.

  1. Can you imagine how much revenue is generated by an insurance company that has a billion dollar advertising budget? Can you imagine the number of clients they must have to pay for ads, plus pay out claims? When you choose to support a local business, the quality of customer service increases dramatically. Local agents can spend quality time with you, managing your insurance policy, to ensure your needs are always being met.
  1. Supporting a local independent insurance agent gives you a close, unique relationship with your insurance company. Yes, being physically close to your insurance agent can benefit you tremendously. Need to make a change to your policy? A fifteen-minute drive to the local agency, and ta-da! It’s done.
  1. When you support a local agent, you are also supporting a family. You are supporting an individual that is trying to grow their business while also taking care of personal financial matters. You are giving that agent a chance to grow your business.
  1. Local, independent agents genuinely care. They are here for you. Your business means the world to that person.

When you support local agents, you are truly making a difference in that person’s life.
